Why we collect your information (Collection Notice)

At Frequent Shopper Club, we care deeply about your privacy.  

And that means giving you everything you need to make informed choices. 

We want to make it simple for you to understand how we collect, use and share your personal information, so please read on to find out more. 

How and why we collect personal information  

We collect personal information such as your name, contact details, date of birth, gender, how you earn and redeem your Frequent Shopper Club points and your payment card details when you scan your card, visit one of our websites or otherwise engage with Woolworths, for instance when you contact our Customer Hub.  

First and foremost, we collect your personal information to register and  manage your account and to reward you for your loyalty. Without the necessary information, we may not be able to do so. 

We also use your personal information to: 

  • communicate with you about your purchases

  • improve the services we offer you  

  • seek your feedback 

  • respond to your enquiries and complaints 

  • conduct investigations in cases of fraud or data security risks 

  • improve our business generally, including by monitoring or recording our interactions with you for training purposes  

  • keep our records accurate and up-to-date

  • better understand your needs and identify and market to you other products and services you may find useful and

  • comply with our legal obligations.

Depending on how you deal with us, it’s possible we may need to collect other types of personal information necessary to deliver you the benefits of Frequent Shopper Club or respond to your broader needs. 

Sharing your personal information

We work with a number of partners and service providers and we may sometimes need to share your personal information with them to bring you Frequent Shopper Club and in the course of doing business. These include IT services, mailing and call centre service providers. 

We may also need to share your personal information with other parts of the Woolworths Group, as required by law or in the context of any legal proceedings to which we are a party. 

Should we ever explore the sale of our Frequent Shopper Club business, we may need to share personal information with potential and final acquirers.
